13. Mapping the genome

The genome is the map of human existence. Its four cardinal points are A,T,G and C, the four chemical compounds that constitute the genetic code.

The genome map is a mosaic of smaller maps, the gene maps, which individually and collectively define the form and function of humans.

These maps provide the means to navigate the human genome in all its extraordinary complexity.
